Most of our roofing is part of a bigger job: a new roof on an extension, a barn or a new build. We also take on roof replacements, repairs and chimney work on their own.
We cut and pitch roofs, fit trusses, felt and batten, and lay natural slate, clay pantile and concrete tile. We build flat roofs in EPDM and lead roll, and dress leadwork around chimneys, dormers and valleys.
We do a lot of chimney work. We rebuild stacks from the roof line up, reset or replace pots, and repoint and flaunch them so they stay watertight.

Natural slate
Welsh and Spanish natural slate, nailed or hooked. As found on many Victorian and later houses across North Yorkshire.
Clay pantile
The red clay pantile is the signature of North Yorkshire farm buildings and cottages. We reuse sound tiles and match new ones to them.
Flat roofs
EPDM rubber and lead roll flat roofs for extensions, dormers and garages, laid on a warm deck with proper falls.
Lead roofs and leadwork
Lead roll roofs, flashings, soakers and valleys, dressed by hand to shed water where the roof meets walls and chimneys.
Chimney rebuilds
Stacks taken down to sound brickwork and rebuilt, with new flaunching, pots and lead flashings.

Do you do roof repairs?
Yes. Call Lewis and tell him what you have noticed. For larger repairs or roof replacements we will visit and quote.
Can you match old slates or pantiles?
Yes. We salvage sound materials during strip out and source reclaimed or new slate and pantile to match.
Do I need permission to rebuild a chimney?
Rebuilding a chimney like for like does not usually need planning, but listed buildings and conservation areas may need consent. We will check before we start.
