Barlow Construction has helped me through a major renovation of an 1860s property, involving new suspended ceilings, new wall linings throughout, full damp proofing, new doors and lintels, a new central heating system, and new bathroom and kitchen installs. Lewis leads every job
Lewis Barlow founded the company. He is the person you speak to first, and the person who signs your job off at the end.
He spent over twenty years learning the trade on estates and private homes across North Yorkshire before starting Barlow Construction, and he still works on the tools when a job needs him. Clients tend to mention the same thing about him: he tells you what is happening before you have to ask.

Groundworks and foundations
Footings dug, steel fixed and concrete poured to the engineer's design. Get this right and everything above it stays straight.
Bricklaying and blockwork
Blockwork, facing brick matched to the house, garden walls and chimney stacks, laid by our own bricklayers.
Stonework and lime
Dressing and setting stone, cutting in repairs and repointing in lime. The trade Lewis learned on North Yorkshire estates.
Roofing and carpentry
Trusses, cut roofs, slate and pantile coverings and leadwork. Finished by our own team, with the leadwork done properly.
Joinery and oak floors
Oak floors, staircases, doors and fitted furniture, fitted by our own joiners.
